Hosting and content delivery
This website is operated using services from Hostinger. Hostinger acts as a processor under its Data Processing Addendum ↗; the applicable Hostinger contracting entity is shown in the publisher’s Hostinger account and invoices.
The origin server for this website is configured in France, within the European Union. Hostinger also provides its distributed content-delivery and security infrastructure. A request may therefore be handled by a Hostinger edge location, affiliate or authorised subprocessor outside France. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, Hostinger states that it uses the transfer safeguards described in its DPA, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. Hostinger’s current subprocessor information is included in the DPA linked above.
To deliver and protect the website, technical request data may be processed: IP address, date and time, requested address or resource, referrer, browser, device and operating-system information, country derived from the IP address, response status and size, response time and security-event information. The purposes are website delivery, stability, troubleshooting and protection against misuse and attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legitimate interest is the secure and reliable publication of this website.
The publisher does not export these request logs or build additional visitor profiles from them. Hostinger retains or anonymises infrastructure and security records according to the service, security and legal retention requirements set out in its contractual retention schedules. Data is retained only for as long as it is required for those purposes or a legal obligation.
Cookies and browser storage
On an ordinary page request, Takes on AI does not set tracking cookies and does not store an advertising or analytics identifier. There is therefore no general consent banner. If you select a 30-day permission for an external media provider, the site stores only that provider name and an expiry time in this browser’s local storage under takesonai.embedConsent.v1. This entry is necessary to remember the option you explicitly requested, is not transmitted to the publisher and is automatically ignored and removed after expiry. You can delete it earlier by selecting “Revoke external media permissions” in the footer or by removing and revoking a loaded player. Hostinger may deploy strictly necessary, short-lived security measures if a request triggers abuse or attack protection. Such measures are used only to deliver and secure the service, not for advertising or audience measurement.
Optional YouTube videos
YouTube is disabled by default. No connection to YouTube is made merely by opening or reading an article. If you select “Load and play video”, the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player is requested from YouTube. The recipient and independent controller for users in the EEA is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google receives technical information including your IP address, device and browser information, operating system, date and time and the page referrer. Google may also use cookies, browser storage and server logs once the player has been loaded. Processing may take place outside the EEA. More information is available in the Google Privacy Policy ↗ and Google’s information about privacy-enhanced embedded videos ↗.
The player is loaded only with your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Section 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021. Consent is voluntary. You may load a player once or ask this browser to remember a provider-specific YouTube permission for 30 days. A remembered permission causes YouTube players to load automatically on later visits in this browser until it expires or is revoked. Refusing has no disadvantage; the article remains fully readable. You can withdraw a remembered permission at any time through the player or “Revoke external media permissions” in the footer. Removing the player stops the embedded connection on that page but cannot reverse data already transmitted to Google.
Contact by email
The contact address impressum@markuskirchmair.com is provided through Google Workspace. Google processes email content, attachments and delivery, security and routing metadata as a processor for the Workspace customer under the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum ↗. Google and its subprocessors operate geographically distributed infrastructure, and Customer Data may be processed outside the EEA subject to Google’s contractual data-transfer terms and safeguards.
If you contact the publisher, the information you provide is processed to answer and manage your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request concerns a contract or steps before entering into a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on the legitimate interest in responding to correspondence. General correspondence is normally deleted no later than 12 months after the final reply. Information required for contracts, legal claims or statutory accounting and retention obligations is kept for the applicable legal period.
External links
The site contains links to other websites and social platforms. No data is sent to those services merely because a link is displayed. If you follow a link, the destination provider processes the visit under its own terms and privacy information.
Your rights
Subject to the requirements of the GDPR, you have the right to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object at any time to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for reasons arising from your particular situation. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future. Requests can be sent to impressum@markuskirchmair.com.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work or the alleged infringement. The competent Austrian authority is the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria, dsb.gv.at ↗.
Automated decisions and required data
There is no automated decision-making or profiling by the publisher. You are not required to provide personal data to read the site. Without the technical request data described above, however, a website cannot be delivered over the internet.
